At least 20 killed, 58 injured in Tibet following earthquake

TOKYO, April 27 (KUNA) -- At least 20 were killed and 58 injured in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, after a powerful earthquake struck neighboring Nepal on Saturday, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported Monday.
Another four people remain missing, according to the regional disaster relief headquarters.
An 7.8-magnitude quake shook Nepal on Saturday afternoon, killing more than 3,000 people The quake also affected the southwestern part of China's Tibet, and some 24,800 people in Xigaze City have been relocated. Nine Chinese military helicopters with 80 soldiers were on board arrived in Xigaze City on Monday to help with relief work.
Meanwhile, about 4,000 Chinese tourists remain in quake-hit Nepal as airlines race to evacuate them, the China National Tourism Administration said. On Sunday, Chinese airlines had evacuated more than 1,000 nationals from Nepal. Currently, Chinese carriers can bring about 1,200 people home every day. (end) mk.gta
