Aircraft of regime crashes in southern Syria -- SOHR

AMMAN, April 24 (KUNA) -- An aircraft of Syrian regime crashed near the airbase of Khalkhal in northern Al- Suwaydaa city in southern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
There is conflicting news whether it crashed due to a technical failure or it was shot down by the militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), SOHR said in a statement on Friday.
Meanwhile, Syrian regime forces intensified air raids today against some areas in Idlib, SOHR added.
Clashes erupted between the regime forces against the Al-Nusra Front and Islamic battalions had been continuing until after midnight around the town of Zebdin, accompanied with shelling by the regime forces, it noted.
The clashes left casualties on both sides, it made clear. (end) tk.hm
