DOHA, April 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Chairman Helal Al-Sayer has emphasized the importance of exchanging of ideas and views, as well as boosting dialogue on the major issues related to the humanitarian scene in the Arab World.
Al-Sayer made the call in a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the 11th meeting of chiefs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Red Crescent Societies that started on Wednesday in Doha.
He underlined the need to organize a relief campaign for the afflicted families in Yemen, saying that the recent events in the country had forced people to flee towns to the more poverty-stricken countryside.
For Al-Sayer, the media and the civil society organizations have a significant role to play in this context, namely conveying to the world the reality of the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
In general, the KRCS chief urged developing more effective tools to deliver humanitarian aid to the afflicted in hot spots, in line with the relevant basic principles. (pick up previous) nnd.msa
