DOHA, April 22 (KUNA) -- Yemen's Minister of Human Rights Ezzedine Al-Asbahi on Wednesday commended efforts by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Red Crescent Societies to aid the Yemeni people suffering hard conditions at home.
Al-Asbahi today addressed the 11th meeting of chief of the GCC Red Crescent Societies, saying that the quick response to hold the gathering highlighted keenness by the GCC member states to fulfil their humanitarian role in support of Yemenis He referred to reports on the vulnerable humanitarian conditions of the displaced and refugees suffering from lack of medications, foodstuff, water and fuel. He called for providing urgent relief aid to alleviate their sufferings.
For the Yemeni Minister, the Saudi-led coalition's announcement that the "Operation Decisive Storm" has ended and a "Renewal of Hope" has started in Yemen. opens the door for humanitarian work through cooperation with the Supreme Committee for Relief in the country.
He stressed that the GCC states which began offering help and support to Yemen even before the launch of the "Decisive Storm", would extend relief and humanitarian aid to the country, he said. (pick up previous) nnd.ss
