Lebanese court sentences five for terrorism

BEIRUT, April 20 (KUNA) -- Lebanon's military court on Monday issued prison sentences for a number of people convicted of belonging to an armed terrorist organisation which aims to carry out terrorist acts and possess weapons and explosives.
Islamist Omar Bakri Fustoq was handed three years, while Al-Qaeda members Jamal Daftardar and Mohammad Bassam Hammoud were each given seven years, official media reported.
Another Al-Qaeda leader, Hussam Al-Sabbagh, and Shadi Zailaa each received two years.
Both Fustoq and Daftardar were arrested by Lebanese authorities separately in 2014. (end) wsm.sd
