KUWAIT, April 20 (KUNA) -- Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the 8th conference of heads of Kuwait diplomatic missions abroad will kick off Tuesday.
The conference will be inaugurated by His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Foreign Ministry Undersecretary and Head of the Conference's Organizing Committee Khaled Al-Jarallah said to KUNA Monday.
A large number of the Foreign Ministry staff and over 104 heads of the diplomatic missions will participate in the conference. Moreover, a plethora of activities will be organized in coincidence with the event in which several government ministries and agencies partake.
The three-day event will tackle a wide array of key political, economic, security, investment and strategic issues, Al-Jarallah said, noting that the rapid changes in the region will feature high on the agenda.
The conferees will mull how to deal with the international and regional developments in a way that achieves the higher interests of Kuwait and strengthens its relations with world countries, he added.
The conferees will also debate the Kuwait foreign policy and mechanisms of implementing it as well as the recommendations and measures needed to raise the efficiency of the diplomatic missions. They will assess the progress made with regard to the execution of the recommendations and resolutions of the previous session, he said. (end) ibi
