Parliament Speaker Al-Ghanim inaugurates 2nd session of Student Parliament

KUWAIT, April 20 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim inaugurated Monday the second session of Kuwait Student Parliament with a view to giving students first-hand experience to parliament work and listen to their points of view regarding the legislative activities and tasks.
"Democratic and human values should be taught to children since early years," the Parliament Speaker Al-Ghanim said while opening the Student Parliament. "Today's session is a step in this direction," he added.
The top legislator highlighted the importance of the initiative on promoting democracy and respect of different points of view. He added that the session was also a chance for the MPs to listen to the views of students on several issues.
Al-Ghanim has announced that the students will discuss a number of bills on the development of the educational process and the outcome of their deliberations would be referred to the parliamentary Educational Affairs Committee.(end) sss.tb.tg
