15 Hezbollah gunmen killed NW Syria

AMMAN, April 19 (KUNA) -- At least 15 gunmen from the Lebanese Hezbollah group were killed in clashes with the Syrian opposition Jaish Al-Islam and Alwyat Al-Furqan groups in the small hours of Sunday.
The clashes resulted from the attempt by Hezbollah gunmen to infiltrate into the strategic hills of Tal Al-Sheikh Khatib on the rural outskirts of Idlib city, northwest Syria, the opposition Syria Mubasher news network reported, citing field sources.
Jaish Al-Islam and Alwyat Al-Furqan groups managed to repel the infiltrators and kill 15 of them, the source said, noting that the two of the defenders were slightly injured in the clashes.
The area has been a flashpoint since the Islamist opposition groups took control of Idlib in late March and routed the regular troops and their Hezbollah supporters. (end) tk.gb
