WASHINGTON, April 16 (KUNA) -- The US condemned the murders of a Ukrainian journalist and a former member of parliament from Ukraine's former opposition party, the Party of Regions, noted State Department Acting Spokesperson Marie Harf on Thursday.
"We send our condolences to their family and friends, call for a complete, thorough, and transparent investigation, which I understand President Poroshenko has called for as well," she said to reporters.
Harf also disputed Russian President Vladimir Putin's claim from interview in which he said that there are no Russian troops in Ukraine.
"All of the evidence points to the contrary and that's of course what we've said for many, many months now," she asserted. (end)
