KUWAIT, April 12 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Information has started preparing for Kuwait's participation in the upcoming Expo Milan 2015, set to kick off early May, said head of the Kuwaiti delegation in the event Mohammad Al-Baddah.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accepted an invitation by the Italian President to take part in the expo, Al-Baddah told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday.
The Kuwaiti section stretches over 2,576 square meters, consisting of three floors, showcasing the country's history and development, he noted.
The section will present visitors with short documentaries about the marine activities in ancient Kuwait as well as life in the desert, and Kuwait's efforts to use water in turning arid areas into agricultural lands, he added.
Moreover, the pavilion will include the development in the field of technology and science, Kuwait's humanitarian works around the world, an aquarium showcasing creatures that live in Kuwait's sea, a diwaniya corner and Kuwaiti cuisine, the official said.
The Kuwaiti team is working hard on attracting visitors to their section through early advertising on social networks and different media, said Al-Baddah, adding that there are over 145 countries participating in the event.
The Expo is an international fair held every five years in a different country for up to six months. The event attracts millions of visitors to learn about the cultures and history of the participating countries.(end) gs.hb.ag
