Academy of Life Sciences earns full accreditation from American College of Surgeons
KUWAIT, April 11 (KUNA) -- Regional Director of the American College of private surgeons specializing in advanced courses to save injured persons as a result of accidents, Consultant of Vascular Surgery, Dr. Saud bin Abdul Aziz Al-Turki unveiled the full official accreditation by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to the Academy of Life Sciences as one of the specialized centers to provide Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Al-Turki said in a press statement after the conclusion of an ALTS course with the participation of 16 doctors and emergency surgeons that the Academy has earned this accreditation after meeting all the requirements and needs and provided all the hardware and necessary human resources besides the opening of the training headquarters in record time and at the highest level.
He said that the college has a high level of unified standards for the adoption of specialized training centers around the world, congratulating the academic team for the fact that the Academy has become the first and only organ in the private sector which provides advanced trauma life support in Kuwait in cooperation with the Saudi National Guard Hospital.
He pointed out this accreditation would also encourage the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health to develop a system forcing doctors and emergency surgeons to obtain these courses like many states, including Saudi Arabia, adding that those courses have become essential in 86 countries, including Saudi Arabia, which adopted such measure since 1991. (end) ATLS was developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) and was first introduced in the US and abroad in 1980 shd.tg
