Kuwaiti municipal officials chair city policies session in Morocco

TAROUDANT, April 10 (KUNA) - A delegation from Kuwait's Municipal Council has chaired a session on population density and obstacles of urban expansion, held on the sidelines of an international conference on reconstruction and city policies in Morocco.
The four-day conference kicked off on Wednesday in the city of Taroudant, in Sous Valley, south of the Kingdom.
The scientific session discussed population density in urban and semi-urban regions, obstacles of allocation land for housing projects and alternative programs, head of the Municipal Council technical office, Naif Sharar told KUNA on Friday.
He added that delegates from 20 Arab and foreign countries are taking part in the discussions.
Sharar noted that the Kuwaiti delegation had offered their views on the issue of urban expansion at the expense of cultivated land, saying that participants seek solution to the problem. Meanwhile, financing of urban development in the world is featuring high on the agenda of the Taroudant event, with focus on developing countries, he said. (end) fz.msa
