MANAMA, April 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait plays a major role in maintaining GCC countries' solidarity, affirmed the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on Monday.
Such solidarity among the GCC member countries constitutes the solid shield in face of hard and complex challenges, said the Commander-in-Chief, as he received Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom, Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah.
For his part, Sheikh Azzam alluded to current serious developments in the region, noting in this respect necessity of coordination among the GCC countries.
He also re-affirmed that the GCC countries aspire "to stability and peace and development of their peoples." Kuwait and Bahrain are members of the GCC, founded in the early 80s, with aim of boosting coordination at various levels. (end) mga.rk
