TUNIS, April 4 (KUNA) -- MP Askar Al-Enezi, head of Kuwait's visiting parliamentary friendship delegation, commended Saturday the "fruitful" outcome of the visit to Tunisia.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Enezi said that the delegation's talks with Tunisia's President Beji Caid Essebsi and senior officials reflected the depth of brotherly relations and friendship between the two peoples at all levels.
The "successful" meetings also mirrored similar views and stances of Kuwaiti and Tunisian MPs towards various challenges the region is witnessing, especially the need to promote the joint Arab security action to counter the scourge of terrorism and to coordinate among Arab and international parliaments towards issues that interest both for Arab and Muslim nations, he noted.
The talks with Tunisian MPs covered the possibility to increase the Kuwaiti investments in Tunisia, he added, indicating that a Tunisia's finance legislative committee promised to coordinate with local authorities to take required measures in this regard.
The meetings, he said, also focused on removing all obstacles to promote investment and economic cooperation and achieve development and prosperity of Tunisia.
He expressed his gratitude to the Kuwaiti Embassy to Tunisia and its staff for their support to the delegation.
For his part, Tunisian MP Ahmad Al-Meshrefi said that the visit affirmed Kuwait's solidarity with, and support for, Tunisians following the recent terrorist attacks on Bardo Museum.
He told KUNA that Kuwait has been supporting Tunisia, hoping that the trip would further boost cooperation between the Kuwaiti and Tunisian MPs in the framework of the Arab Parliament and Inter-Parliamentary Union to serve bilateral ties and causes of both Arab and Muslim nations. (end) nm.hm
