KUWAIT, April 4 (KUNA) -- Food, basic commodities and various necessities are abundantly available at the country's cooperative stores and there is no shortage of any supplies whatsoever, a ranking official assured citizens on Saturday.
Khaled Al-Shimali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, said in a statement to KUNA commercial trades and sales have been proceeding as normal and in order.
Al-Shimali made the re-assurance to the citizens after visiting some cooperative societies and supply centers to check on the situation.
The ministry is following up on any emergency that may arise at the stores and has been resolving any problem in coordination with the competent authorities, the undersecretary re-affirmed.
Ministry staff have been following up on the local markets on daily basis, "removing any obstacles that may arise in face of securing the commodities and the necessities to the nationals and residents," added Al-Shimali, also re-stressing the ministry's keenness on monitoring prices of the basic goods.
