BRUSSELS, April 1 (KUNA) -- The EU Wednesday said it has taken note of the Palestinian accession to the Rome Statute of International Criminal Court earlier today.
"The EU and its Member States are staunch supporters of the ICC," said an EU spokesperson for foreign affairs in Brussels.
"The EU would like to take this opportunity to reiterate its call for the resumption of meaningful negotiations with the aim of achieving a comprehensive peace agreement based on a two-state solution" said the spokesperson speaking on condition of anonymity.
The EU remains actively involved and will continue to work towards a lasting peace with both parties as well as with Arab states and other members of the international community, added the spokesperson. (end) nk.mt
