His Highness Amir receives UN chief

KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and several other senior UN officials at Bayan Palace here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
During the meeting, the UN chief praised the prominent humanitarian role of His Highness the Amir, expressing his appreciation for Kuwait's efforts to host the Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria.
The UN chief's delegation included Administrator of the UN Development Program Helen Clark, Under-Secretary-General and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres, Commissioner of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Pierre Krenpol, Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme Ertharin Cousin and the Director-General of WHO Margaret Chan.
