RIYADH, March 30 (KUNA) -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud voiced here on Monday his gratitude and appreciation to countries supporting and participating in the Operation Decisive Storm against the Houthi militants in Yemen.
During his chairmanship of the cabinet meeting, King Salman emphasized that the operation would contribute to beefing up peace and security in the region and the world as well, said a statement by the cabinet following its meeting Monday and carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The King reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia is open to all Yemen's political forces that seek to maintain their country's security and stability under the umbrella of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in the framework of abidance by the legitimacy, rejecting the coup, and helping Yemen extend its control over territories, it added.
The Saudi cabinet lauded Sharm El-Sheikh's Declaration and resolutions adopted by the 26th Arab League Summit, that concluded on Sunday, which fully welcomed and supported military operations carried out by the Saudi-led coalition to defend Yemen's legitimacy and people, it noted.
On Palestine, the council condemned Israeli violations against Palestinian people, reiterating Saudi demands from the international community to press Israel to abide by the relevant UN resolutions which call for creating an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the June 1967 borders, the statement pointed out.
The cabinet also asserted that Israeli Prime Minister's statements and pledges to block the establishment of the Palestinian state during his term in office is a flagrant defiance to the international will, the principles of legitimacy as well as the relevant resolutions and agreements, it made clear.
