Kuwait's effective participation in IPU conference applauded

HANOI, March 30 (KUNA) -- Conferees taking part in the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly have applauded tangible and effective role of participating Kuwaiti legislators, namely with respect of drafting resolutions.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Kuwaiti Ambassador to Vietnam Hamad Al-Jutaili said members of the Kuwaiti Parliamentary Caucus exerted noticeable efforts during meetings of the IPU committees "and visibly contributed to the wording of the resolutions thus drawing applause of the various delegations taking part" in the conference.
Ambassador Al-Jutaili lauded a statement addressed by Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation, during the international convention, in which he illustrated Kuwait's perspective regarding global sustainable development and its sharing of the international community concerns and responsibilities in this respect.
Moreover, he voiced satisfaction with the outcomes of a meeting that was held on sidelines of the conference by representatives of member states of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, namely an agreement to hold the next meeting at this level in Lebanon. Elaborating, he indicated that the concord to hold the next Arab parliamentary meeting in Lebanon was intended to demonstrate support for this country.
He affirmed significance of the topics that were examined during the conference and sideline meetings -- facing cyber warfare, terrorism, water management and sustainable development.
