Arab Summit emphasizes solidarity with Lebanon

SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt, March 29 (KUNA) -- The 26th Arab Summit expressed full solidarity with Lebanon, readiness to provide political and economic support for the country and its government to preserve its national unity, integrity, stability, and sovereignty on its entire lands.
The Summit, concluded here Sunday, also affirmed the Lebanese people's right in liberating and reclaiming Shebaa farms, Kfarchouba hills, and the Lebanese part of Ghajar village.
It also expressed support of Lebanon in demanding the international community to implement the UNSC resolution 1701, under Council resolutions 425 and 426, for calling for an end to Israeli violations and threats to Lebanese lands, civil facilities, and infrastructure.
The Summit also commended national efforts exerted by the Lebanese army and security agencies to preserve stability and public peace in the country, lauding the sacrifices by Lebanese soldiers in the fight against terrorism and terrorist groups such as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and Al-Nusra Front.
It also welcomed efforts exerted by the Lebanese government in hosting Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon despite the country's limited capabilities, stressing the importance to support Lebanon and share its burdens regarding accommodating refugees.
The Summit also expressed support of current dialogue among Lebanese political powers to overcome disputes, ease political tension, push for national consensus. (end) ms.mfm.rg.ma
