"Decisive Storm" coalition envoys discuss operation with French officials

PARIS, March 28 (KUNA) -- Developments of the Saudi-led military operation against the Houthi militia in Yemen were the focus of a Saturday meeting for ambassadors and diplomats of the Arab coalition member states in Paris and senior officials of the French Foreign Ministry.
Dean of the Arab diplomatic corps in France, Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed led the Arab delegation to the meeting.
The envoys discussed with the chief of the Foreign Ministry's Middle East and North Africa Department Jean-Francois Girault the Yemen issue and developments of operation "Decisive Storm," Al-Saeed told KUNA.
The Arab diplomats emphasized their countries' support to Yemen's unity and stability, so as not to slide into an "abyss of chaos", Al-Saeed said, referring to the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) initiative to resolve the crisis.
The GCC Initiative and its Implementation Mechanism aims to bring stakeholders in Yemen to the negotiation table to draw up together the future of their country, he stressed.
According to Al-Saeed, the French side renewed condemnation of the Houthi rebels and their attempt to seize control of the country, urging regional solidarity for Yemen's stability.
The talks were attended by ambassadors of the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt and Morocco, together with the Charge de' affairs at the Saudi and Bahraini embassies.
The Operation "Decisive Storm" was launched early on Thursday in response to an appeal by Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to stop the Houthis' coup against legitimacy. (end) amm.nbs.msa
