World leaders express support to Saudi-led operation in Yemen

JEDDAH, March 28 (KUNA) -- The leaders of US, Spain, France, Britain, Pakistan and Germany informed the Saudi monarch King Salman bin Abdulaziz of their support to the Saudi-led operation "Decisive Storm," to protect the Yemeni people and their legitimate president.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that US President Barack Obama stressed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in a telephone conversation last night his country's full support to the kingdom.
Obama also stressed readiness to fully defend the security and territory of the Kingdom when requested to do so, and expressed his country's readiness to provide all kinds of support the Saudis need.
In turn, the Saudi King thanked the US President, stressing on the strength and strategic relations between the two countries and the Kingdom's keenness on strengthening them in all fields.
Meanwhile, Spain's King Felipe VI and Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy expressed, in two separate phone calls, their support for the Kingdom and to operation "Decisive Storm," which aimed at eliminating assets of the Houthi militias.
Furthermore, France President Francois Hollande also expressed, in a telephone conversation with the Saudi monarch, his country's readiness to provide all necessary support in all fields.
Meanwhile, Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron also indicated, in a telephone conversation with King Salman bin Abdulaziz, his country's full support to the kingdom and willingness to provide all forms of support that they need.
On another front, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also stressed his country's full support to the kingdom and support to operation "Decisive Storm," which include fighter jets from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Sharif stressed in a telephone conversation with the Saudi leader that "Pakistan's army is the army of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi army is the army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan." German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed, in a telephone conversation with King Salman bin Abdulaziz, her country's full support to the kingdom and operation "Decisive Storm," expressing Germany's willingness to provide all kinds of support that might be needed to the Kingdom.
The Saudi monarch also discussed with all leaders bilateral relations and developments in the region. (end) nh.mb
