By Mahdi Al-Nemer MILANO, Italy, March 25 (KUNA) -- The Italian architect Italo Rota expressed his pride for designing the Kuwaiti pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, titled "Feeding the Plant, Energy for Life," an experience that allowed him to visit the country and get acquainted with its history and culture.
He added in remarks to KUNA, in an interview at his office in Milano, that he repeatedly visited Kuwait lately to get inspired by the people's basic ideas, beliefs and concepts to allow him design the Kuwaiti pavilion, in a manner that would reflect the country's special identity, describing his trip to Kuwait as an "extraordinary humanitarian experience." He hailed the Kuwaitis' warm hospitality and atmosphere of friendship, and found the country as playing a prominent and leading international role in the financial, and industrial development fields, which allows it to "invest in the future".
Rota expressed his deepest appreciation and recognition of the Kuwaiti projects, executed all over the world, contributing to help poor people and countries in need to turn the world into a better place to live in.
The basic idea of designing the pavilion evolved around the story of Kuwait and water resources, followed by the production of main food supplies, followed by the latest technology revolutions and discovery of oil.
Rota applauded the Kuwait's achievements in investing its own human resources during the past half century, in a world mainly reliant on the human factor.
The pavilion, visited daily by 11,000 people, exhibits various elements reflecting the Kuwaiti history and culture.
The Kuwaiti pavilion, titled, "Nature Challenge", is held at a distinguished location in the Expo fair ground, between the pavilions of the United States and Germany, on a total area of 2,790 cubic meters. (end) mn.lb
