By Fahad Al-Enzi KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- Dubai's Crown Prince equestrian Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was crowned champion in the Gulf endurance cup that was held on Saturday at Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village.
Meanwhile, the UAE's Abdullah Ghanim came second in the contest in which 135 horsemen and horsewomen from Kuwait and the Gulf region participated.
In a statement to KUNA following the race, Sheikh Hamdan said that the tourney was a real success as UAE's equestrians took part in the contest along with their brothers and sisters from Kuwait and other Gulf countries.
He extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and all people of Kuwait on national days.
Sheikh Hamdan stressed his keenness on promoting the Kuwait-UAE relations in all domains, especially equestrianism, expressing his gratitude to His Highness the Amir for warm reception.
The Dubai's Crown Prince wished Kuwait further progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Highness the Amir.
Meanwhile, after winning the tenth place, Kuwait's equestrian Al-Rowaished said that organizing such events here contributes to developing performance of Kuwaitis. He looks forward to taking part in the coming tourney due in Texas of US. (end) fsh.abd.hm
