ISIL militants execute 9 civilians in Al-Raqqa -- SOHR

AMMAN, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant executed 9 men including 5 Kurdish men in Tal Abyad area, announced Friday the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
According to the SOHR sources in the area, the ISIL claimed that some of the killed were armed and allied to the Kurdish armed groups while the rests were a cell.
Meanwhile, the SOHR pointed out that at least five civilians including a woman and a child were killed and several others wounded in a series of air strikes by the Syrian regime warplanes around al-Merj area in Reef Dimashq province.
It noted that the number of the dead is likely to rise according to the number of serious injuries.
It added that helicopters dropped explosive barrels on Mager al-Mer in al-Shekh mount, no reports of losses. Warplanes raided areas in Duma amid shells fired by regime forces fell on areas in the town.
In Aleppo province, the SOHR pointed out that clashes took place after midnight between regime forces backed by Hezbollah against rebel and Islamic battalions in old Aleppo, reports of losses in both sides.
Clashes also took place around Bustan al-Basha, al-Rashdin and Khan Toman hill. Warplanes opened heavy machine gun fire on rebels in Hendarat and al-Rashdin. A surface to surface missile fell on area in Retian town.
In Damascus province, warplanes carried out several air strikes on areas in Jobar neighborhood which witnessed aerial bombardment by regime forces and clashes between regime forces backed by Hezbollah against Islamic battalions and Jabhat al-Nusra. (end) tk.ibi
