Bahraini court issues death verdict against convicts in killing police officers

MANAMA, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- The grand criminal court on Thursday sentenced three persons to death and ruled life-long imprisonment against seven others and stripped eight of the convicts of their citizenship in the case of three police officers' death.
Ahmad Al-Hammadi, the general prosecutor, said in a statement the sentences were handed in relation to the assault, in March, on police forces. The bombing attack had resulted in death of the three officers.
The convicts had planted explosives on a main road and lured the police to the scene with riots, and when the personnel arrived, they set off the explosives killing the trio. (end) mgh.rk
