Six more airstrikes target ISIL in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- The US and its anti-ISIL coalition partners launched a total of six airstrikes on the group's facilities in Syria and Iraq between 8am on Jan 29, and 8am on Jan 30, local time, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) announced.
In Syria, fighter aircraft carried out two airstrikes near Kobani, where they "struck two ISIL staging positions and destroyed two ISIL fighting positions and one ISIL vehicle," CJTF-OIR affirmed.
In Iraq, attack and fighter aircraft carried out four airstrikes near Al Asad, where "an airstrike struck an ISIL firing position," and near Tal Afar, where "three airstrikes struck two ISIL fighting positions and destroyed an ISIL building, an ISIL bunker and an ISIL shipping container," CJTF-OIR said.
The US does not typically reveal the number of casualties in their near-daily operations against ISIL. (end) ys.ajs
