Turkey arrests Briton for alleged involvement in Syria fighting

ANKARA, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- Turkey's security authorities have arrested a British man over suspected participation in the ongoing fighting in Syria, official media reported Thursday.
Abdulwahab Cige Mohammed was arrested after he crossed into Turkish territories from Syria, Turkish security sources said, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
The British man, who is said to be of African origin, allegedly participated in clashes in Syria, sources said, adding that anti-terrorism authorities began following his movements in Turkey's Izmir province, after going there from Hatay province, and eventually arrested him.
He presented a fake Syrian identity card to Turkish security personnel at a checkpoint, sources said, noting that his British passport was eventually found after his arrest. Judicial authorities charged the suspect for forgery of official documents. (end) rs.ma
