Kuwaiti Info.Minister lauds achievements of His Highness the Amir

KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- The UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a humanitarian leader reflects Kuwait's distinguished position in the world, stressed Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah.
In a statement to KUNA on Wednesday on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the accession of His Highness the Amir to the reins of power in Kuwait, Sheikh Salman said the UN honoring emphasizes appreciation by the international community of His Highness the Amir and his efforts aimed at ensuring a dignified life to peoples of the world.
Sheikh Salman, also Minister of State for Youth Affairs, noted that Kuwaitis are very proud of major successes and achievements by His Highness the Amir inside and outside of Kuwait since the time he participated in public service in order to contribute to setting up a modern state.
The minister noted that the vision of His Highness the Amir to turn the State of Kuwait into a financial and commercial hub across the globe would be a quantum leap in Kuwait's economic growth.
He recalled the march of His Highness the Amir in serving Kuwait and its people.
Sheikh Salman pointed to the role of His Highness the Amir in setting up the constituent council and participating in drafting the constitution for the newly-independent state of Kuwait. (end) fa.tb.hm
