Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, US President confirm keenness to continue coordination

RIYADH, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and US President Barack Obama, stressed their keenness to continue joint efforts and coordination between the two countries in all fields, and to support security and stability of the region and the world.
The Saudi Royal Court said in a statement quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) last night that the two sides held a meeting in Riyadh, where they discussed strengthening bilateral relations, as well as regional and international developments.
The meeting also tackled the importance of resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict based on international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, in addition to the Iranian nuclear issue within the framework of the ongoing negotiations between the 5+1 Group and Iran.
The two sides also discussed joint efforts to fight terrorism, in addition to the situation in the region, including the Syrian crisis and the repercussions of the situation in Yemen.
President Obama offered condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques over the demise of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
For his part, King Salman considered this visit a continuation of the Summit meetings between the two leaders since the late King Abdulaziz and the late US President Franklin Roosevelt in 1945, during which historical and strategic relationship between the two countries were founded.
President Obama concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia last night, which was his third after 2009 and 2014. (end) ad.mah.ss
