IRGC to retaliate for killing of commander in Israeli raid

TEHRAN, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Brig.-Gen. Hossein Salami, the second-in-command of the Islamic Revolution Gaurds Corps (IRGC), on Tuesday vowed that Iran will hit back at Israel for the death of Brig.-Gen. Mohammad Ali Allahdadi.
On Sunday an Israeli gunship fired two missiles at the strategic city of Quneitra on the occupied Golan Heights, southwest Syria, killing senior IRGC commander Allahdadi as well as six members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
"The Zionists have to know that we can never let go the killing of our sons while they enjoy peace and security," IRNA news agency cited Brig.-Gen. Salami as saying.
He affirmed that the IRGC and Hezbollah will retaliate against Israel at the time, venue and scale of severity they deem appropriate.
In a related development, IRGC Commander Maj.-Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari said the "Zionist regime" is reaching the end of its role and the liberation of the holy Qods (Jerusalem) is now eminent.
He made the comments at a ceremony to commemorate Allahdadi and other Hezbollah members in north Tehran in the presence of a number of senior Iranian officials including the First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri, Commander of the IRGC Quds Force Qasem Soleimani, and Iran's former ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi.
