Australia demolishes UAE to face S. Korea in Asian Cup final

KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Hosts Australia will take on S. Korea on Saturday in the final of the 2015 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup after beating the UAE 2-0 in a semi-final game at Newcastle Stadium on Tuesday.
In the early minutes of the game, the UAE was shocked when Trent Sainsbury scored the opener in the fourth minute and his teammate Jason Davidson doubled the lead 10 minutes later.
After the two goals, the UAE's Omar Abdul-Rahman, Ali Mabkhout and Ahmad Khalil tried to press the Socceroos to improve the results; however they failed to score and the first half concluded in favor of the hosts.
With the start of the second half, the Arab team started launching attacks on Australia whose defense strongly scattered all opportunities.
The UAE and Iraq, two Arab teams, will meet each other for the third and fourth places on Friday. (end) ayr.tb.hm
