GCC chief touts UN development efforts

RIYADH, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif Al-Zayani voiced here on Monday much appreciation for UN efforts in the field of sustainable development.
Al-Zayani made the remark during a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Saudi Arabia Ashok Nigam, commending the UN's eagerness to promote and bolster joint cooperation and coordination with UN agencies and organizations, according to a statement released by the GCC Secretariat.
During the meeting, they discussed the GCC's support for UN development programs in the region as well as the latest regional and international developments, it said. (end) ad.mt
