Blast in E. Afghanistan kills two security men

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- At least two border police members were killed and two others wounded in a bomb attack in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on Saturday, said official.
The casualties occurred when a pick-up carrying the border police personnel came under attack, the spokesman for Nangarhar governor, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai told media.
The bomb exploded near the Kabul terminal in the provincial capital Jalalabad, he added.
Abdulzai said that the injured policemen were evacuated to hospital and were in stable condition.
The vehicle came under attack on its way to the border police base; the initial probe suggested that a magnetic bomb struck the vehicle.
The attack came at a time when Taliban rebels have paced up their attacks following the withdrawal of NATO/ISAF forces from Afghanistan handing over the security control to Afghan national forces from January 1st. (end) sbk.ss
