Kuwaiti delegation visit GTMO detainee - Ambassador

WASHINGTON, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti security-medical delegation visited Fayz Al-Kandari, a Kuwaiti prisoner at the US Guantanamo prison facility in Cuba yesterday.
The delegation aimed to get reassured about Al-Kandari's health condition, Kuwait Ambassador to the US Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah told KUNSA on Wednesday, noting that the detainee is fine.
Sheikh Salem added that he led the Kuwaiti side at a meeting with officials from the US departments of state and defense to discuss the measures to transfer Al-Kandari to Kuwait.
He hailed the meeting as positive and constructive, affirming that the Embassy will continue efforts to transfer Al-Kandari to home as early as possible. (end) yt.gb
