Israeli forces attack Ramallah peaceful protest, nine Palestinians injured

RAMALLH, Dec 19 (KUNA) -- Nine Palestinians were injured when Israeli forces attacked a peaceful protest in the village of Turmusiya, north of Ramallah on Friday.
Hundreds of Palestinians took part in the protest and were heading for the land confiscated by Israeli authorities, also where Minister Ziad Abu Ein, was killed earlier this month.
Protesters held a memorial for Abu Ein and implanted olive saplings before the Israelis attacked them.
Spokesman for the popular resistance committee in the village of Ni'lin Salah Al-Khawaja said nine protesters were wounded in the attack, one shot with live ammunition.
He told KUNA that the Israeli forces beat protesters and splashed sewage water on them.
Meanwhile, a young Palestinian was shot when the Israelis dispersed another protest in the village of Kafr Qaddum near Nablus. People were protesting closure of the village entrance, in place since 2000. (end) nq.msa
