MANAMA, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- The 10th annual Manama Dialogue conference was successful due to discussing vital issues, including fighting terrorism and radicalism, besides shedding light on international efforts regarding this issue, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah said.
Ambassador Sheikh Azzam said, during a dinner banquet he held late on Saturday for the Kuwaiti delegation members that attended the conference, that Bahrain offered a great opportunity for exchanging expertise between decision makers and security leaderships through this important event.
He hailed Kuwait's participation in this conference, which came in line with the country's commitment to support the international community in the efforts to fight terrorism and seek plans to prevent further spread of radical thinking, in addition to contributing to developing relations among states at the regional and international levels.
The Kuwaiti delegation was headed by Chief of the National Security Apparatus, Sheikh Thamer Al-Sabah, and included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of interior and members of National Security Apparatus.
The annual Manama Dialogue provides a forum for the national security establishments of the participating states to exchange views on regional security challenges. It is a unique forum in that it is made up of governmental delegations from over 20 countries, including not only the states of the region and the immediate neighborhood, but also the outside powers with security interests in the Gulf.
