ANKARA, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait regards highly security cooperation with Turkey and seeks to bolster the Kuwaiti-Turkish joint security agreement, said on Wednesday a Kuwaiti official visiting here.
Meeting earlier today with Turkish undersecretary of the ministry of interior Sabahuddin Oz Turk, his visiting Kuwaiti counterpart Lt.Gen. Sulaiman Al-Fahad emphasized the fact that joint security cooperation with Turkey aimed at fighting terrorism, human trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling of weapons, and all transnational organized crimes that harm security and stability of the society.
He hoped that the bilateral talks on these and other issues would result in tangible approaches to invigorating the two nation's joint security agreement.
In his turn, the Turkish undersecretary underscored the importance of coordination and cooperation between security communities and apparatuses in both countries at a momentous time when the region was going through numerous socio-political difficulties.
Kuwait and Turkey signed a security agreement in 2005 over cooperation in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, drugs, smuggling, and illegal immigration. (end) amn.ajs
