Kuwait, Turkey to mull security cooperation -- Lt. Gen. Al-Fahad

KUWAIT, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad on Sunday said Kuwaiti-Turkish talks due this week would focus on strengthening security cooperation, combating terrorism and organized crime, exchanging data and smuggling of weapons.
Before heading to Turkey, Lt. Gen. Al-Fahad who was accompanied by a security delegation, said in a press statement the talks would be held at right time due to security issues and their impact on the region.
The visit comes in the framework of Kuwait's constant keenness on supporting security and stability on the regional arena which has an effect on the local one, he added.
Security developments on the regional arena require vigilance and constant consultations with brotherly and friendly countries in the region in order to back security and stability in these countries, he noted The delegation includes Assistant Undersecretary of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Maj. Gen. Ahmad Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah, Assistant Undersecretary of the Criminal Security Affairs Maj. Gen. Abdulhamid Abdulrahim Al-Awadhi and Maj. Gen Essma Al-Naham.
