Abbas, Arab League chief discuss Israeli violations in Jerusalem

CAIRO, Nov 28 (KUNA) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby here on Friday discussed the developments of situation in Palestine and Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem.
Palestinian envoy to Egypt Jamal al-Shobaki said in a statement that the meeting focused on effort exerted to help Palestine get a Security Council resolution regarding setting a time to end Israeli occupation and escalation in Jerusalem.
"Abu Mazen discussed with Al-Araby some items which will be submitted in the meeting of Arab foreign ministers slated on Saturday (tomorrow) here and huge effort by Palestinian national unity government to rebuild the Gaza Strip," al-Shobaki added.
President Abbas emphasized that donor countries should keep their promises to provide money that they pledged at conference held in Cairo last October on the reconstruction of Gaza. At the conference, donor nations pledged $5.4 billion for the process of rebuilding.
The meeting was attended by Palestinian officials, inducing Executive Committee member Saeb Erekat, Foreign Minister Riad al-Maliki, Spokesperson for Abbas Nabil Abu Rodina and al-Shoubki and other senior officials.
Abbas arrived here last Thursday to attend the meeting of Arab foreign ministers and meet a host of Egyptian officials. (end) mfm.asm.hm
