KUWAIT, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait clinched a three straight-set victory over Yemen in their first game of the Arab Men's Volleyball Championship here on Thursday.
Kuwait has been drawn in the fairly easier Group B of the dual-group competition, which also includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Libya.
Providing the one-time title holders progress to the following round, they could face tough competition from either of Group A's Algeria, runners-up Bahrain or Egypt - all of whom have a total six titles amongst them.
Meanwhile, the corresponding Group B game witnessed Qatar beating Libya, while Egypt beat Algeria in Group A.
Defending champions Tunisia, who are absent from the current edition, are the most nation to have attained the regional title on seven occasions. (end) ayr.sd
