Italian FM with Iranian VP over nuclear talks

ROME, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- Italian Minister Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni held talks Tuesday with visiting Iranian Vice-president Massoumeh Ebtekar over nuclear talks, regional developments and environment protection.
According to a press statement by the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry, Minister Gentiloni reiterated his country's support of Iran-West nuclear negotiations.
He stressed the importance of the negotiations to reassure the international community about the nature of the Iranian nuclear activities.
He expressed hopes that the signs of Tehran's openness can be translated into a comprehensive agreement to pave the way for the full reintegration of Iran into the international community.
The statement added that talks also tackled the rapid developments in the Middle East region and the importance of the moderation to maintain the regional stability.
The Minister also lauded the international role of Ebtekar, who is also Head of the Environment Protection Organization, in promoting environment protection. He called for expanding Italian-Iranian environment protection cooperation. (end) mn.ibi
