Ban encouraged by P5+1, Iran extension of talks

NEW YORK, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is encouraged by the determination and commitment by the P5+1 and Iran to overcome their remaining differences and to achieve a comprehensive agreement.
On the extension of talks concerning Iran's nuclear programme, the Spokesman to the UN Chief said in a note to the correspondents that Ban calls upon the parties in the months ahead to sustain the positive momentum and to build upon the progress they have made.
He hoped all sides continue to implement their agreed commitments with a spirit of mutual trust and in good faith.
Iran and the P5+1 group failed to reach a final and comprehensive agreement by their November 24 deadline despite week-long marathon negotiations in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
They however agreed to extend negotiations for seven months and to resume talks in the coming months. (end) mao.bs
