Jordan PM commends Kuwait's support

AMMAN, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour here on Monday lauded the depth of "historical" relations and the fruitful cooperation with Kuwait in different domains notably development ones.
This came during his meeting with the Director General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdul Wahab Al-Bader, said a statement by the cabinet.
The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation and burdens caused to Jordan due to hosting a large number of Syrian refugees, it pointed out.
According to the statement, Ensour expressed Jordan's appreciation to Kuwait's constant support and contribution to a Gulf fund that finances development projects and services across the country.
They reviewed an agreement inked by the two countries Sunday night aimed at supporting the countries that host Syrian refugees, it said.
For his part, Al-Bader praised the depth of relations between the two countries, stressing that supporting Jordan is necessary especially amid these tough conditions the Middle East region faces, the statement conduced.
The KFAED Sunday night donated USD 18 million to Jordan as part of Kuwait's efforts to help regional countries cope with influx of Syrian refugees.
The grant agreement was signed by Al-Bader and Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif. (end) ab.hm
