PARIS, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- French President Francois Hollande will meet Wednesday for talks with Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi, the first meeting here between the two men, the Elysee Palace said in a statement Monday.
The agenda has not been published but is certain to include the crisis situation in several Middle East countries, notably in Syria and Iraq, with a knock-on effect from the Syrian conflict for Jordan and Lebanon, in particular, because of insecurity and huge flows of refugees.
The two leaders are also certain to discuss the growing unrest in Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian Territories and the inherent risks to a resumption of the peace process.
The Coalition operation against Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is also expected to be high on the priorities for the talks. Libya is also likely to be part of the talks.
Bilateral relations and efforts to enhance cooperation should also be discussed.
The Elysee Palace said that the French and Egyptian presidents would meet for preliminary talks and continue discussions over lunch. (end) jk.rk
