RIYADH, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia National football team defeated UAE 3-2 in their semifinals match of the 22nd Gulf Cup at King Fahad International Stadium in the Saudi capital on Sunday.
In the first half, Saudi Nasser Al-Shamrani scored his country's first goals with a powerful shot at minute 18, only to be followed by a second goal by his teammate Nawaf Al-Aabed at minute 21, ending the first half 2-0 in favor of host country.
In the second half, the UAE team was able to come back scoring its first goal at minute 52 with a header by Ahmad Khalil, who also scored the second goal for his team at minute 78, tying the score 2-2. The Saudis were able to lead the score again only minutes before end of the match through a powerful shot by player Salem Al-Dousari at minute 85, granting the victory for his country's team.
Saudi Arabia is now due to meet Qatar for the final match next Wednesday November 26 at King Fahad Stadium. Meanwhile, UAE will play against Oman on Tuesday for the third place. (pickup previous) ha.ma
