Qatar, Algeria sign several co-op agreements

DOHA, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Qatar and Algeria hammered out a number of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and cooperation agreements with a view to buttressing bilateral relations and cooperation in all domains.
The pacts were inked at the conclusion of the fifth Qatari-Algeria higher committee meeting which was co-chaired by Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani and visiting Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
The signed MoUs and agreements include an agreement on cooperation and news exchange between Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the Algerian Press Service (APS), the first joint tourism and higher education programs, the second joint youth and sports programs, the third program for media cooperation and, the fourth joint program of the education cooperation.
It also included the first program for cooperation in the fields of fishing under the cooperation MoU on fisheries, the second cultural cooperation program, the twinship protocol between national libraries, MoU in the field of water resources, MoU on the areas of consumer protection, economic control and combating commercial fraud and a bilateral agreement on mutual administrative assistance for the optimum application of customs law to suppress, investigate and combat customs violations.
