By Abdulwahed Al-Talbi

MARRAKECH, Morocco, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- CEO of the Future group Abrar Al-Mas'oud lauded as successful Kuwait's participation in the Fifth Global Entrepreneurship Summit (2014 Marrakesh GES).
"The summit provided us with an opportunity to highlight the innovative and pioneering spirit of the Kuwait young entrepreneurs," she told KUNA on Friday.
Al-Mas'oud was chosen to represent the Arab, Middle East and the Gulf regions at an international arbitration panel of an inter-continental context for female entrepreneurs.
"The contest drew participants from around the globe who tabled 100 projects, including the three winning ones," she said, noting her participation in the arbitration panel as a Kuwaiti female entrepreneur came under an invitation from the White House and in collaboration with the US Department of State.
"During the summit Kuwaiti young entrepreneurs won international recognition for their efficiency and long experience," she went on.
Al-Mas'oud extolled His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for sponsoring the issues of youth and women and constantly responding to their aspirations.
"Without the kind support from His Highness the Amir to the innovative and pioneering projects of the Kuwaiti youths, it would be unlikely for me to represent the Arab, Middle East and the Gulf regions at the panel," she affirmed.
She attributed her successful participation in the summit to the atmospheres of freedom and stability provided for the Kuwaiti women under the constitutional institutions.
"The fifth GES, to come to a close later today, opened new horizons for Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to network, and share experience, with their peers around the globe, thus contributing to the promotion of their professionalism," Al-Mas'oud went on.
She noted that a large number of investors from the Arab region and beyond showed interest in the projects raised by Kuwaiti entrepreneurs during the summit.
The summit is expected to come to a close after issuing a range of recommendations and announcing the winning projects of the entrepreneurs' contest.
The fifth edition of the annual GES, held under the patronage of Moroccan King Mohammed VI between November 19 and 21, is themed "Harnessing the Power of Technology for Innovation and Entrepreneurship." It brought together some 4,000 entrepreneurs, heads of state and government, representatives of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and business leaders.
The event serves as "an innovation village" where entrepreneurs from Africa and around the world will be able to promote their projects and share new ideas on myriad topics including ICT, water management, and alternative energy. Kuwait's delegation to the summit is headed by Director of the Economic Affairs Dept. of the Foreign Ministry Adel Al-Ayyar. (end) adt.gb
