KUWAIT, Nov 1 (KUNA) -- "A respectful and quite cordial personality, being kind despite hosting me for the first time, this is His Excellency President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi, the man who has sacrificed his life for defending future of his homeland and the whole Arab region." With these words, KUNA Chairman Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah expressed his impressions about the exclusive meeting with the Egyptian President, held on October 29, 2014, at Al-Ittihadiah's Presidential Palace, during which "I sensed that he was preoccupied with causes of his nation despite the economic challenges facing Egypt and his relentless efforts to fight the flagrant terrorism.
"He expressed his belief in the bonds linking the Egyptian national security with security of the Gulf region, affirming that any complacency with respect of security in the Gulf is a tantamount to slack in protecting the Egyptian national security." In this article, devoted for summing up his impressions about the special interview, Sheikh Mubarak wrote, saying that he sensed on part of His Excellency the President deep admiration for his brother, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, noting that he was keen on being present at the ceremony marking the presidential post assumption ceremony, held in Cairo on June 8.
Sheikh Mubarak wrote that President Al-Sisi assured him that his nation would stand on Kuwait's side, expressing appreciation for its support for Egypt and its people.
"Our dialogue was rich and in depth, affirming depth of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations and prospects of developing them with respect of various crucial issues in the Arab region." President Al-Sisi stressed on the Arab-Arab solidarity at these crucial times, need for rebuilding the Arab countries affected with the strife and taking action to prevent such events to happen in other countries in the Arab region. He underscored the need for combating terrorism, speaking candidly about the key role of the media particularly for building national unity, noting that he favored guiding rather than controlling this sector.
"I had wished the meeting would have lasted for more hours but the president's preoccupations had limited its duration," the KUNA chief noted, expressing his deep satisfaction for meeting the top decision-maker in the major Arab nation. (end) rk
