Pakistan hands over 29 Afghan detainees to Afghan authorities

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (KUNA) -- Pakistan on Friday handed over 29 Afghan nationals detained from different areas of North Waziristan tribal region to authorities in Afghanistan, the military said.
A statement issued by media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Afghan nationals, arrested during "Zarb e Azb" military operation, were in custody of Pakistani security forces and were handed over to Afghan authorities at Ghulamkhan on the Pakistan-Afghan border.
Detailed investigation concluded that these individuals did not have links with terrorists, but were illegal immigrants without valid documents, the statement added.
Pakistan military launched the operation Zarb e Azb against the local and foreign militants in North Waziristan on June 15 after a deadly attack on the international airport of southern Karachi city. (end) sbk.bs
